Generally, patterned shawls are more expensive
than plain ones, and beaded and embroidered shawls are more

Though, pashmina shawls can be woven with several styles, basic
concepts remain the same. A few of styles are Nepalese, Indian,
Tibetan. Prices should not be affected with weaving style.

About Pashmina Composition and Weight:
Pashmina are generally woven with the following compositions:

100% Pashmina.

90% Pashmina and 10% Silk.

80% Pashmina and 20% Silk.

70% Pashmina and 30% Silk.

50% Pashmina and 50% Silk.
Silk is used to impart extra strength to
pashmina. Higher the content of pashmina, lighter and softer the
shawl, and higher the price. High content of silk will impart
extra strength and shine to the pashmina shawl but the shawl
will be little heavier.

About the Size of Shawl:
Generally, the breadth of a regular full size shawl ranges from
28 inch to 38 inch, and the length the shawl ranges from 78
inches to 84 inches. Typical size is 36 inch x 81 inch.
Obviously, larger the shawl, higher the price.

About Count or thickness of shawl
Thicker the shawl, more the counts and higher the price.
